Hope by the Sea is a full-service treatment center that provides intervention, aftercare, and sober living services. Sober living homes are safe, drug-and alcohol-free environments in which peers can support each other in their sobriety and learn new ways to cope with problems and conflict. Staff at our sober living home are often recovering addicts and alcoholics themselves and are able to provide support and advice to people who are newly sober. Because residential treatment is just the start of recovery, oftentimes sober-living homes help people further develop healthy coping skills and daily habits to prevent relapse.
Our Program for Sober Living
Hope by the Sea offers a sober living program that allows both freedom and structure at the same time. 12-step meetings and other therapeutic activities are encouraged, as they teach newly sober individuals how to take care of themselves and monitor their recovery on a daily basis. Clients in sober living are able to go to school, work and attend outside meetings, have reasonable curfews to instigate normal daily habits, and may have chores or other projects within the house to keep it running smoothly. In this way, our drug treatment program provides patients with useful skills that facilitate their transition back to the real world.
Long-term Support
The majority of people who use sober living as a tool after residential treatment find that long-term sobriety is easier to maintain and that the social network and friends they meet in sober living end up being supportive, honest friends. Sober-living homes are generally not co-ed in order to reduce outside distractions and focus on recovery. There may be a minimum stay, but often people choose to stay in sober living for longer than required because it is a supportive, loving environment. Hope by the Sea encourages their clients to use sober living as an additional form of support after drug or alcohol treatment. Drug and alcohol abuse are behaviors that develop over time. Even after individuals form new habits, a supportive network of friends and positive role models help them to maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
Enduring Life Skills
Remember that addiction has numerous physical as well as psychological symptoms and effects. An effective treatment center will provide a holistic approach to recovery that addresses an individual’s physical comfort and needs, as well as his or her emotional and psychological well-being. At Hope by the Sea, our staff is thoroughly trained to give your loved one the medical care and moral support needed during the transition to a drug-free life. Drug and alcoholism treatment is an ongoing process that can begin with our center, but should ideally continue indefinitely. Our goal is to give patients new perspective, strength, and coping skills that will provide them with self-support long after they exit our program.
