Part of the VA's Community Care Network
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) trusts Hope by the Sea to provide accredited, evidence-based rehab services to its members. We’re proud to be a part of the VA’s Community Care Network.
Hope by the Sea is a VA Community Care Network Provider
The VA Community Care Network (CCN) is a network of clinical and medical partner organizations within your area. If VA hospitals are too far from your residence or lack the services you require, you may be eligible for our CCN-approved rehab services.
Hope by the Sea is an approved member of the Community Care Network. This means that the Department of Veterans Affairs has hand-selected our treatment center to deliver behavioral and mental health services to former members of the U.S. Military. As a result, treatment at Hope by the Sea is covered by the VA through TriWest Healthcare Alliance. It is our priority to deliver high-quality, timely treatment to those who have served our country.

How to Get into a VA CCN Addiction Program
Eligibility for CCN programming depends on your specific location and needs. Community Care Network facilities become viable options for veterans in the following circumstances.
VA Center Proximity and Medical Necessity
If the specific services are deemed medically necessary and are not available at a nearby VA facility. If you live in a state or territory that lacks a full-service VA medical center.
Quality Concerns
If the VA facility cannot meet the appropriate quality standards.
Access and Appointment Availability Issues
If you face issues with access and appointment availability, including:
- VA locations for primary care positioned further than a 30-minute drive from your residence,
- VA locations for specialty treatment further than 60 minutes from your home,
- No appointment availability within the next 20 days for primary care, or
- Zero appointments available within 28 days for specialty treatment.
Veterans: Start Your Recovery Journey at Hope by the Sea
To begin receiving care at Hope by the Sea, you should first make an appointment with the VA. They will assess your condition and determine whether you require treatment for substance use disorder. If they cannot accommodate your needs or do not have immediate availability, they will authorize you to receive treatment through the Community Care Network.
At this point, you are free to select Hope by the Sea as your treatment center and alert the VA to your decision. Once they refer you to our facility, we can provide same-day transportation to our campus. From there, you’ll begin your journey to recovery.
If you need urgent treatment for substance use disorder, trauma, or mental health issues, we’re here to help. Contact our compassionate admissions staff to learn more about the VA CCN requirements, our stringent quality standards, or our veterans-only recovery program. Hope starts here!
